As an SAP Application Engineer ABAP developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure SAP ABAP applications in S/4HANA. You will work closely with functional leads, business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to understand requirements and implement solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document and maintain scalable, reliable and secure SAP ABAP applications in S/4HANA.
- Build robust solutions while considering performance, security and maintainability.
- Learn and gain knowledge on new modules such as Retail, GTS and SAP RAR.
- Work with functional leads, business stakeholders, project managers and technical teams in a cross-functional environment to understand requirements and implement solutions.
- Provide level-of-effort estimations based on thorough research code study work prioritization to inform stakeholders of progress delivery timelines.
- Perform rigorous code reviews to ensure high-quality code.
- Mentor provide technical guidance to other junior engineers.
- Identify root causes of complex technical issues deliver robust fixes.
Share knowledge through presentations documentation best practice discussions.
Identify contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency maintainability
Adhere to audit compliance documentation standards.
Drive innovation for new existing solutions through BTP RAP ABAP on Cloud GenAI other technologies.
Work with vendors/SAP on project deliverables Co-Innovation ideas.
Skills & Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with RICEFW objects including ABAP Reports Dynpro BDC OData SOAP/Web Services
- Working knowledge in designing developing interfaces using ALE/IDoc/BDoc Flat Files RFC BAPI
- Proficient with ABAP OOPS User Exit BAdI BTE Enhancement Framework
- Demonstrated experience in Forms Adobe Forms Smart Forms SAP Scripts
- Development exposure to ABAP on HANA objects CDS AMDP
- Familiarity with the ABAP RESTful Programming Model RAP for transactional apps
Experience
- 3-8 years of ABAP application development experience in MM/SD/FI/CRM modules ECC/S4HANA
- At least one full-scale implementation cycle has good knowledge of SDLC methodologies
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent
