Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager to join their expanding Infrastructure Operations team in Milan. The ideal candidate will have experience managing teams, creating strategies, and implementing technical solutions to advance AWS Data Center Operations.
Responsibilities
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and encourage a world-class safety culture.
- Guide a team of technical professionals to support Data Center Operations.
- Review ticket queues for large events and act accordingly.
- Manage and deliver mid-size projects.
- Recommend, write, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs.
- Manage a diverse team of Data Center Technicians.
- Maintain the on-call schedule and coordinate absences/vacations to ensure 24/7 operations.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency calls.
Write and deliver performance reviews for staff.
Skills & Qualifications
- Direct people management experience
- Understanding of IT Operations and Service Management practices
- Fluent English communication
Experience
- Proven track record of successfully delivering projects amidst competing priorities
- Experience with IT infrastructure domains such as compute server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, cabling best practices, and IT service delivery principles and best practices
- Prior ownership of operating a mission-critical team or product
- Project Management Experience
